Town and Country

Sometimes the greatest works are produced by pure will. This collection of Jewellery may very well be the work of Rachel Ross made during the recession in Trinidad and Tobago. if so, the earring is made of a pvc sleeve with two plastic curtain loops, painted black and deckled with gold spray paint to give it the appearance of copper.

A Japanese fashion focused to lure in the dirty Jap syndrome

A drunk Japanese man or more likely a Japanese woman has tapped on a fashion trend that will make your engaged man, look back, twice, yes, twice as what he see is not. An ingenious design on a denim skirt has imprinted to what looks like a white unstained pantie riding the cheeks of the individual. This is not a trend, but culturally inbred in Japanese men for their fetish over exposed white panties worn by school girls. But if we look further, these courting displays are really to show the availability of the subject in her quest to meet a mate. No married women would be foolish enough to follow in suit regardless of its immediate fashionable trends. They will be chastised though the strict law of obedience towards men.

The first Trinidadian woman caught wearing this skirt, providing she is a tick, high cocked bamsee, slugging along George Street, Port of Spain with a photo imprint as a florescent green fringe thong squeezed in between perfectly matching her skin tone, and carrying her market basket, stacked with a ripe plantain and two grapefruit. The earth will move, a State of Emergency will be declared, oil will spout out from every backyard, buildings will sway, necks will sprain back and cars will smash into each other with a force returning man to his primal ape being by swinging on vines a yelping, oh gluod, nah, nah, whey, laawd, laawd, meh toetee singe in me pants.

Psychedelic Goa in Trinidad

Filed under: Fashion, Trends — thebookmann @ 8:33 pm

Until this Sunday at Alice Yard in Woodbrook, Port of Spain, Trinidad, West Indies, this young man from Goa, Indian has brought a few items to sell. He is catering to the local hippie / rave community with a range of merchandise. From swede bags to leather shoes he has selected artisans and tailors who have been inspired by the psychedelic culture.

He says his efforts are to show Trinidadians that here is more to India than the Indian High Commission or the grand Indian bazaar expo and prices run from 600 dollars for a swede bag to leather slippers under 200 dollars.

What is amusing is what he thinks of the Indian community in Trinidad, and of the oddities with their surnames and not forgetting local Indians who believe they are more Indian that him. Goa is very much like Tobago in its landscape and the state was once under the rule of Portugal.

To the left, Rohanic of The oblique imperative with a psychedelic hand painting that reflects the state of consciousness under mind altering hallucinogenics.

In mythology, hair is a sign of seductive beauty and strength

This is Sheldon, and what this rather tall striking man is showing you is his hair plats which were executed by his girlfriend, a petite yet charming girl. As the couple stood outside of one of the popular bars in Woodbrook, Port of Spain, she explained the process by pointing two feet up to his head.
The history of his particular hair style comes simply by comparing a visual of rows of corn in a field, hence, Cornrows. With this specimen, there are rows of plats that are cone shape which extend to the crown. At the forehead, a devision of plats are parted in three which follows the contour of the head, and end at a headband of extended piggy plats.

The art of plating someones hair has a deep cultural root. Between mother and child or grandmother and grandchild. You can just picture a girl who sat between her parent’s legs and stomached the pulls, the grease, the tugs and complaints of not having good hair. More importantly it was the conversations between them both. With Sheldon, he and his girlfriend would have bonded in conversations about their relationship, or perhaps just gossiped about current things, nevertheless it is the human nurturing quality which creates the intimacy. Hair is something people are protective of.

At hair salons for women, to comb-out, treat and plat a braid or weave ones hair takes the entire day, men on the other hand suffer less torture. Sheldon’s cornrows took under two hours to complete, but this excludes extra time he took to finesse himself for the evening. The results gives him a sense of kicking hip pop street style.
