Guinness – Sexual Impotence

An incomplete figurative painted billboard advertising the stout beverage, Guinness, Port of Spain, Trinidad
For many men in Trinidad and Tobago, this is a remedy which the washed-out graffiti explains (Sexual Impotence) for those who may lack the sexual prowess. A couple of Guinness may do the trick to make your wood stand and to double-break in the process.

The future
Focus strength creativity and change
The concept of Trinidad and Tobago as a paradise is shown here by this mural on a metal panel. There is the coconut shell as a face with flowers, a palm tree and steel drums over a setting sun. It is a paradise we hope for at at time of uncertain, social neglect mixed in with greed and disrespect.

Miss ¼ mile is no more
A sign removed
Who was this model? And what possessed her to pose so effortlessly. Rumour has it that the former super sized cut-out is actually a known dancer in the area, then others say that she succumbed to AIDS and the sign with removed in respect. But truth is generally the line between. One thing is clear, at the heart of the island’s busiest junction, adjacent to the Priority Bus Route, Curepe, Trinidad, West Indies, it is no more.
Before, Miss ¼ mile adorned the roof of a Sports Bar and /or Racing Club. The giant twenty-foot realistic photographic cut-out of a seductive woman straddled over an Americanized wing emblem displaying the type in neon, “1/4 Mile.”
For men, this is a birth rite to those who enter. A checkered flag awning surrounds the building with two posters of drag-racing engines located at either side of the single-story structure. Miss ¼ mile is naturally back lit by the ever changing heavens behind her and her legs are spread- eagle as if she was exercising with an invisible “Thigh Master.” Then later, she will be ready to seduce the public with her yellow canary bikini top and matching stretched wide-gapped Poom-Poom shorts.

The purr of an engine that brings men in
For users of the Nation’s most traveled road. This billboard was strategically placed on the skirt visible to all walks of life. And without doubt, remarks of men’s virility arise; “Ah could take she and make it sweet,” spoken without restraint from men seated at a window in passing maxi- taxis.

House of kitsch
Ah looking for a toilet paper roll crochet cover, yuh have?

This wall painting of a ceramic cone filled with fruits of avocados, grapes, apples and pineapples is very inviting to the aunt, mother-in-law or wife of the layman. In many households in Trinidad and Tobago an ornament like the antiques shown here sits on a mantel next to the bouquet of freshly clipped plastic flowers and a figurine more likely to be a porcelain ballerina. There should also be a ceramic religious icon that hangs precariously off the wall in part of the room.
This type of decor is truly an aesthetic to Trinidad and you’ll be lying to yourself if one or two ornaments are not somewhere around in your house. So if you’ll looking for the ideal gift for your great aunt, Zaid’s Gift Centre in St. James has a variety of items to suit her or any occasion. It is the genuine China really from Taiwan. The novelty store has there for many years, and if you peek through their window display, it makes you wonder ….why do people have the fascination for collecting these ostentatious things? See a classic figurine.
A smoker’s campaign
There are many small grocer shops located on the curb off streets across Trinidad and Tobago. It is a place were you could pick up a small item like a Newspaper or have a quick breakfast of gizzard and hops. They also sell cigarettes and when you get the smoker’s urge for nicotine you can purchase a single fag to quell your addiction. These are kept in a small clear bottle.
Advertiser tend to market tobacco in a sophisticated way, it is always shown as glamorous or sheik. And like the seductiveness and pleasures surrounding smoking, there are painting signs that depict a woman in a black short skirt, a man in a tuxedo or as illustrated, a nude woman cantering on the beach at sunset attached to outer wood rafters or nailed to the concrete walls of these shops. see thebookmann’s header taken from one of these signs.
This is a cigarette campaign that uses large airbrushed work on aluminum. They are a series of the envisioned Black Gold’s lifestyle smoker.
