A star onto an eclipse – Embah

Embah’s Midnight Robber sculpture at CCA7, Trinidad in November 2004

The Art magazine, Artforum asked a group of International Artists, which exhibitions were the very best for 2005? “Embah, if only the eyes can speak…Meditation is his key, and to see these paintings is to look through the keyhole of the door in the creative process,” were the remarks by Chris Ofili. The British painter resides in Trinidad and is quite supportive of the eccentric sculptor. Embah, a self taught artist and former bookbinder has the knack for the kitsch, his decorative sculptures are distinctly Trinidadian and composes mainly of his passion, West Indian cricket.
