Divali…lamps of light


A Deity, a large elephant made with newsprint and formed as a papier-mâché


In preparation of the festival, bamboo ribs makeup these Deyas holders


Strips of wire hold each Deyas independently

These photographs were taken at the festival of Divali 2005 in Trinidad, West Indies Observed by the Hindu faith the Festival of lights speaks of light over darkness, good over evil and justice over injustice. See Divali 2006
